What is a Campfire Sauce?

Before defining the meaning of a “campfire sauce,” let us get to know how important a campfire is when camping. Besides generally helping in keeping you warm, it will provide some lighting around your campsite in case your solar lanterns or generator fails. What’s more, it is also one of the major means of preparing your food in the wilderness. Now let us get back to defining a campfire sauce.

However hard I have tried to get the right words to describe a campfire sauce, I have not been lucky enough. I finally decided that it is a name that prolific campers came up with for their magical dip. The reason why I call it a magical is that if you have it, you can eat the food which you can barely eat without the sauce.

You can use it with breadsticks, sausages, French fries and any other food you have on your camping expedition. During your camping spree, having with you some campfire sauce is an appealing idea as it will help in making your camping staple foods a delicacy to look forward to.

Since it is so easy to make red robin sauce, you will be able to make it anywhere you want without using special cooking tools. So, this type of sauce is something to try during your camping time with your friends and family!

Here are the main steps to follow when you want to make red robin campfire sauce and the important ingredients to use!

    What You Need

To make this sauce, you will not need any sophisticated kitchen tools or even ingredients. You will, however, need a bowl and different other sauces such as a mayonnaise sauce and barbecue sauce, in the quantities that you are aiming for.

To these main two ingredients, you can always add other spices according to your taste such as chipotle or paprika, pepper or even garlic. Some people like to flavor the entire recipe with some Ranch sauce, and this is perfectly fine as long as you end up with the taste that you want.

    Procedure:

    1. Mixing the basics

The basic ingredients you will need to make red robin campfire sauces are mayonnaise and barbecue sauce. You will need a bowl and a fork to mix the two different sauces until you obtain a homogeneous composition.

You should add equal amounts of barbecue sauce and mayonnaise into the bowl so the taste will also incorporate both of these ingredients. The common amount of basic ingredients added when it comes to making this campfire sauce is half a cup of each type of sauce.

    2. Add some extra flavor

While mayonnaise and barbecue sauce are the main ingredients when you want to put together a great red robin campfire sauce, it can get a lot better than that! And here is the part where you can get creative and put your signature on the sauce.

Try adding a tablespoon of paprika, pepper or chipotle powder and mix it well with the combination of mayonnaise and barbecue sauce. It will only enrich the complete flavor of the final sauce and make it even tastier for you and your loved ones.

You can add these spices in larger or smaller quantities according to your preferences. And you can always improvise by adding other spices and see how your red robin campfire sauce turns out like.

    3. Try out some Ranch

Even if Ranch is a delicious sauce by itself, it can be even better as part of this recipe. Since red robin campfire sauce contains a great deal of mayonnaise, Ranch will go perfectly with it. Simply add half a cup or less of Ranch to your final combination and be amazed by the miraculous effects on the entire sauce.

The general rule is to add the same amount of Ranch as the mayonnaise you added, to begin with, but some people tend to like it with more or less. You will be able to discover the best combination and even create your very own recipe of red robin campfire sauce after a couple of attempts. The good news is that, there is no set in stone rules that you have to follow. Even if you go to different restaurants, you will notice that the red robin campfire sauce might taste slightly different from one place to another.

7 Important Tips to Help You Get the Best Campfire Sauce

These are some tips that only experienced campers know about. However, they can be used by almost anyone, and it is good if everyone knows them. They are as listed below.

    • Make sure that you plan your menu before you set out on your camping expedition. This prevents the likelihood of you lacking food as you camp.
    • Store your ingredients in the right amounts and also have them labeled. This will save you a great deal from having to measure them while camping.
    • To keep your ingredients in good condition, freeze them first before storing them in the icebox ready for the camping spree.
    • To ease the task of preparing meals during the camping spree, you can simply precook stews and soup at home and store them well such that when camping, you will only heat them.
    • Plan on your menus way before you set out for camping. This will help you decide on the right kitchenware and tools you will carry to the camping spree, ranging from wooden spoons, tongs, chopping boards, serving plates, pans, pots, grate, a chef’s paring knife and a kettle with which you will use to heat up water. Lightweight chopping boards and longer tongs are the best for a camping expedition.
    • Decide on the most suitable cooking method, whether you want to reheat, grill, cook in a foil or barbeque your food.
    • Cost of the kitchenware you will carry during camping is also a factor you need to consider. Very expensive kitchenware will get you robbed and probably beaten up. I am certain you would not want such a nasty encounter interfering with a fun-filled activity.

    Conclusion

It is my hope that you now know how to make a campfire sauce recipe. Going on a camping spree does not mean that you can barely enjoy your meals for the days you will be away from home. Even if you do not have as much food as that you have in your refrigerator, you can still look forward to mealtimes and also enjoy your meals.

The campfire sauce is a good dip for your food. It will certainly elevate the taste of your food and trust me, the output of the simple procedure will bring you delight. If you have never tried preparing your own campfire sauce, you can now go ahead and try it out.
