Guns and Other Tools Essential For Hunting

You cannot hunt without the proper hunting tools. Guns are the most efficient tools you can use during a hunt. There are a variety of guns you can choose from depending on the type of animal you are hunting.

Best Revolvers

Hunting can go on for hours in rough terrains that are hard to maneuver. A smaller gun that you can easily carry in your hand can make your movement easier. Below are some of the best revolvers you can buy for hunting;

  1. Smith & Wesson Model 69: It is a small revolver you can use to hunt small animals. The barrel is 2.75 inches and is made of stainless steel. It has a comfortable grip that will make it easy for you to shoot the animals.

  2. Ruger Super Redhawk: It has a triple-locking cylinder that helps to improve stability. The steadiness will help your aim and increase the chances of hitting the animal. The revolver has a 13-inch barrel that you can mount a scope on to help you shoot animals at a distance.

  3. Smith & Wesson Model 29: It is a very powerful handgun that can cause severe damage. It has an easy-to-pull hammer and a comfortable grip, making hunting easy and fun. It is 4 inches long and can hold six bullets. The 29 may be expensive, but you get a great gun and a fun shooting experience.

  4. Ruger Super Blackhawk: The gun has a comfortable hardwood grip that gives you steady shooting. Its 5.50 inches barrel increases your aiming accuracy, giving you a better chance to hit the animal. It is a single-action revolver and can hold six bullets.

  5. Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter is a single-action revolver with a stainless steel body and black laminate grip. The gun has a 7.5 inches barrel with two cut-outs that allow you to mount a scope. With even out weight between the grip and the frame, you get a steady gun to shoot short- and long-distance animals at ease.

Best Pistols

Pistols are small guns and are easier to carry during a hunt. You can quickly holster and unholster your weapon; this is important, as sometimes, in the wild, every second matters. If you are a fan of using pistols for hunts, below are some of the best ones available in the market;

  1. Sig Sauer 1911-22: It is a 22 caliber pistol based on the 1911 design. The gun has a barrel length of 5 inches and a capacity of 10 rounds. It is a single-action pistol and is very accurate. You can easily hit small and medium animals with it.

  2. Browning Buck Mark Medallion 22: It is a great gun that is comfortable in your hands. It has a laser focus that makes it highly accurate. It carries ten rounds and has a total length of 9.5 inches. Having his pistol on your hunting trip will make your experience easy and fun.

  3. Ruger Mark IV Target: The pistol has a three-dot sight system, making it highly accurate. It is a single-action and has a capacity of ten bullets. The gun is ideal for small-game hunting. You will quickly hit your target in a fun and exciting way.

Best Rifles

Sometimes rifles are a better fit for a hunt if you are doing big-game hunting or long-distance hunts. They generally carry bigger caliber rounds that can be ideal for taking down bigger animals. Some of the best rifles include the following;

  1. Mossberg MVP Scout

  2. Tikka T3X

  3. Nosler 21

  4. Ruger American Predator

  5. Marlin 1895 SBL

  6. CZ-USA 600 Alpha

Knives

A knife is an essential tool during a hunt. You will need a big knife to make your way through the thick plantations of the hunting grounds. A knife will also help gut an animal once you have made a successful hunt. It is easier to gut the carcass in the wild and carry home only the essential parts.

Other Hunting Necessities

You should also bring the following items to your hunt to ensure an easy and good time.

  • Maps and GPS-They will be helpful to ensure you stay aware of your location at all times.

  • Medication & First aid kit- If you are on any medication, you should always carry enough meds for the duration of the hunt. You also need to have a first aid kit ready if you experience an accident in the wild.

  •  Proper clothing: You should dress for the weather and per the hunting zone's regulations.

  • Food & water-You want to avoid starving or dehydrating during your hunt.

The Secret to Happy Hunting

Hunters are only as good as their tools. Having the right equipment will guarantee a fun and easy hunting trip.
